I love it! I make a 60 mile commute everyday to work and back, and it so great passing the gas station every day.
I forgot to mention that the “kit” 55 200 and 55 300 lenses are actually fine little lenses. They lightweight and compact (especially the 55 200) and take perfectly fine pictures (although the 55 300 may be a little soft past 200mm from my very limited experience with them). They big thing is they don focus as quickly and surely as the bigger lenses with the true AF S ring motors in them. I found my old 55 200 VR useless for stuff like football with lots of chaotic movement and disappearing subjects but for more predictable sports like tennis and baseball in the daytime, it did pretty well and I got a lot of good shots with mine over the years your hit rate isn as high though because you miss things because the lens just couldn rack to where you needed it fast enough. I do recommend VR on these lenses as they don have the mass of the bigger lenses and don damp vibrations naturally as much which makes the image in the viewfinder (and what the AF sensor is seeing) jump around a lot more, even if you shooting at speeds that don normally require VR.
Recently, I picked up a 1999 MKIV Jetta 2. It was slow, and as good as the thing looked, it ran like sht. After replacing the downpipe and cat (this car failed emissions hard), I was getting error code 16518, “No Activity Bank 1 Sensor 1” on my VAG COM. As well as 16521, “Bank 1 Sensor 2 Signal Intermittent,” which I wasn’t too concerned about.
If anything I say get an E90 or E92 if you really want one but know that a lot of them probably will have been hooned in and not as reliable. Also don count your chickens before they hatch. Save up an emergency fund and all that and then work on getting a car.

Also, if you are interested in the Radians they are going really cheap right now, so it may be worth it to buy now and save them. Really hoping for any advice on my current car leasing situation. 3 years ago my boyfriend started a lease on a BMW 4 series for $425/mo. After a year and half had passed, I was interested in also leasing a 4 series. I found one I liked and we negotiated the price down to $400 a month. At the time I was financing another vehicle and was cosigned on my boyfriends lease. Because the new BMW would be a third car under my name they had to get creative. I offered to have my parents cosign but they said they found another solution as my parents were out of state. They decided to basically do a “payoff” of my boyfriends remaining lease payments and add it to mine so that we would only have one BMW under each of our names. This made our payment around $825/mo for the combined payments. We signed the deal and were on our way. The following day we wondered what would happen when my boyfriend’s lease term ended. We called and I can’t quite remember exactly, but it was something along the lines of the payment would fall off or we would trade both cars in and begin new leases.

Mini knows you want one. When people shop around for a car, they can bounce from dealership to dealership without really expressing they want a particular type of car. Unfortunately, when shopping for a Mini, most dealers will know that you want one of those in particular. If you express you drove a long way, loved them for years, etc., then they can turn that against you.
