DOMAINfest 2012 Recap

By Jackie Parkinson, Project Coordinator for The Parking Place

In late January, The Parking Place team trekked to Santa Monica, Calif. to attend the DOMAINfest trade show. After a quick flight on Monday night from Denver to LAX, the team set up their booth in preparation for the next three days of meeting new and old clients alike. In attendance, were CEO, Scott Richter; Manager, Kacy Manning; Sr. Affiliate Manager, Jazette Pester; Sr. Affiliate Manager, Brian Chase; Project Coordinator, Joe Clark and Project Coordinator, Jackie Parkinson.

Throughout the 3-day conference, the team attended a variety of educational sessions which included the panel discussion titled, Affiliate Lead Generation Best Practices, and included experts Brook Shaaf, Jay Weintraub, Peter Hamilton, and Eoin Matthews. This panel provided our team with a wealth of knowledge about how our affiliate network, affiliate.com, can better serve our clients to help them achieve best practices within their affiliate marketing programs.

The team also attended the Landing Page Optimization Best Practices and Conversion Tools presentation which was led by Tim Ash, CEO of SiteTuner. With The Parking Place’s dedication to providing their clients with optimized and high converting landing pages, this presentation provided us with even more tools to create better results for our clients. Out of all of the sessions attended, particularly, the Keynote Fireside Chat from Twitter Co-Founder Biz Stone was their favorite session of the trip, during which, Stone discussed the start-up of Twitter and the evolution of Social Media within our industry.

At night, there were a variety of networking events which the team attended. The most exciting of which was at the Peterson Automotive Museum where they marveled at the Bat Mobile along with other hot rods and classic cars. While the team enjoyed the sunny California weather before heading back to the snowstorm in Colorado, they were excited to get back and have already started implementing their new ideas from the talking with clients and takeaways from the educational sessions.
