What we should have is elevated mass transit only systems and compact cities with the entire groundscape both green and scaled to human life. But being that the most powerful companies on the planet are all dependent on the wasteful paradigm of sprawl, ineffecient cities/buildings, and automobiles, this is what we get. That is the problem with monopolies. Industries that do not have to compete become stagnant. And actually in a lot of ways I think you can see the same thing happening with computers and electronics.
Same thing happened to Nissan when they introduced the GT R. The GT R had to prove itself on track. and it did. Now sure, the vast majority of GT R owners go for straight line stuff. But anyone with track experience will know that a GT R in decent hands on a track will 100% walk the talk. Does everyone like the GT R? Obviously not. But it lives up to its marketing.
Has anyone encountered this problem? Both the Chicco and Headwise are relatively compact seats, but would possibly changing out the Graco for an even skinnier Diono Radian or Safety First guide 65 perhaps solve the problem? As well as switching up seat location or installation method (moving one to middle of a smaller seat works, changing up seatbelt vs. latch etc)?
There was always the option to install the base with a seat belt which is what we were planning on, but the lady on the phone told me that we wouldn’t be using the base at all and that we’d just have to strap the seat in with the belt which doesn’t seem all that safe to me.

There is really no point in trying to convince someone to buy an EV by downplaying this fact. they are great second cars, and they are great cars for people who are fed up with big oil/climate change/high gas prices, and hence willing to adjust their lifestyle as necessary. for most everyone else, hybrids and ICE vehicles are a much safer bet, and a much easier sell.
You will have a CPO warranty for a while but things seem to start going very wrong after the first 3 4 years. My car was often at the dealer for things such as faulty electronics, leaks, broken sway bars. The repairs only costed me time but it would been expensive after the CPO warranty expires.

We just had our second baby this week and have unfortunately discovered that when our Chico keyfit 30 (behind passenger side for our newborn ) and FF Graco headwise (behind driver for 3 year old) are installed (putting any of these seats in the middle is impossible, unfortunately, both installed with latch) an adult passenger cannot fit in the middle of both our 08 Honda Civic and 06 BMW X3. We suspected that this would be the case with the civic, but very surprised with the X3 is of course a bigger car and which we use most often and take on longer trips.

Every one in my neighborhood it seems has now taken delivery of their model 3 has they are all over the place. It a cool car but it is by no mean a city car, which is what I need. We have a ICE Suv for long range, for now. I have taken delivery of the i3 REX and I can say for sure, I would have been frustrated but the Bev version. Consider it cheating but the Rex extender has proven so far to be worth the extra $$. I coded the car and I have driven with 174 miles of range, light foot and taking advantage of steep downhills with battery Soc hold. I can charge or I can pump, having flexibility is sure sweet.

My 3.5 year old is in a Roundabout, just about to outgrow it (he is just under 40 pounds and 40 inches, 15 inch torso). 18 month old is in a Comfortsport RF (rear facing) with about 3 inches(approx) left of shell above his head (24 pounds, 34 inches, 12.5 inch torso). The infant seat I have is a Peg Perego sip 22 pound limit. We just sold my Miitsubishi Endeavor today, and my husbands current car is a Ford Excursion so room is not a problem. I will most likely start driving the Excursion town with the kids he will get a smaller car (possibly a BMW or similar size) to commute to work. However we would still like the option of drviing in the car with the 3 kids if possible. Plan on having to buy a few new carseats either way. I was looking at a Frontier for my older child for the Excursion, and was going to buy him a Radian for my Endeavor but now we sold that car.
Put the Defender outboard on passenger side for the teacher to help your son in/out of the car. It’s easy to buckle/unbuckle; by the time school starts, your son may be able to even do it himself! (And if the teacher or any other school parents complain to you about the extra 30 seconds it takes to buckle a child into a 5 point harness, tell them that at his young age and size, those 30 seconds make ALL the difference to his safety in a car crash. Isn’t a child’s life and future worth 30 seconds???)
Would you drive such a showy car? If it was what I wanted and could afford, sure. Currently I drive a 07 VW New Beetle. Its my dream car. DH (dear husband) offered to let me trade it in for something “better” and I refuse. I love that thing, it works great, and my kid, carseat, gear and groceries all fit quite nicely. Not to mention its paid off. I would rather spend my money on clothes, shoes and bags then a “better” car though. Although I am sure people would find that pretentious. It’s a fundamental way that humans communicate with each other.
For full disclosure, I had a Coccoro for DD. Loved the seat, and DD (dear daughter) outgrew it RF (rear facing) at 35″ and 26 27 lbs. I think it’s the cutest baby product on the market, but it’s a niche seat and not useful for most people. It sounds like you, like me, may be the 5% for whom it’s perfect.
