Would you drive such a showy car? If it was what I wanted and could afford, sure. Currently I drive a 07 VW New Beetle. Its my dream car. DH (dear husband) offered to let me trade it in for something “better” and I refuse. I love that thing, it works great, and my kid, carseat, gear and groceries all fit quite nicely. Not to mention its paid off. I would rather spend my money on clothes, shoes and bags then a “better” car though. Although I am sure people would find that pretentious. It’s a fundamental way that humans communicate with each other.
I paid off my student loan earlier this year so i have zero debt. My housing and other monthly costs are low. I have a 2007 Chevy Tahoe that is paid off with 106k miles. Its worth about 10 12k. I want to trade my truck in and finance the difference, which means i will ideally finance 10k.

If this kind of expense is what you really want and it and doesn impact your retirement goals, then treat yourself.There always an in between option, too. Last year I bought a new Tesla. Quite a bit more expensive that the M3, but I would not have wanted a gas car in 2018 for that level of money.
But let assume for a moment that I didnt mind going with Unplugged, MoutnainPass, or any of those other companies. Many of those parts have issues (noise, ride height discrepancies, etc) without offering tested validated performance benefits, never mind solid and established company backing. So sure, there are parts available, but so far the Tesla aftermarket doesn yet offer the kind of offerings that allow the P3D to really shine. And again, OEM tier support is largely missing. Now the community mostly accepted this (they have no choice) but solid packages from established players would be strongly beneficial.
Usually, in vehicles that have a hatchback style trunk (with an open seat back) you will find the anchor on the back of the seat and sometimes in the ceiling (for the middle seat position). If the trunk is closed, you typically find the anchor spot behind the headrest. I know you will be tired, but installing the seat properly is very important. If the person picking you up doesn’t know whet to find the anchors in their vehicle, ask them to look it up in their manual as soon as they can.

There was always the option to install the base with a seat belt which is what we were planning on, but the lady on the phone told me that we wouldn’t be using the base at all and that we’d just have to strap the seat in with the belt which doesn’t seem all that safe to me.

Modern engines have knock sensors and run right at the edge of detonation all the time by design to extract maximum energy out of every drop of fuel. Running premium isn really giving you more margin for error in terms of pinging on a modern engine, the engine just bumps the timing up as much as the gas will tolerate anyway.
I purchased a new X5 It was great for the first year then the oil leaks started ruined my garage floor. Local dealer was not able to fix the leak. I had to add like a quart every two weeks. They told me and I quote BMWs leak. Heater blower died in middle of winter on ski trip. I purchased the X5 thinking it would be more dependable then the Range Rover I traded in for the BMW. I now own a JEEP Grand Cherokee and I am very happy with it. Very comfortable and reliable. Now when I see a Bimmer or RR I think back to all the tow and garage bills and the big oil stain and I appreciate my JEEP even more.6 months ago
I really am not a vain person. I’m not into status symbols just for the sake of looking like something I’m not. I don’t know fashion and I don’t go to all the hip clubs. But I do appreciate quality, and when I am blessed to be able to buy nice things for myself, then I feel I should have them. My Beemer has been one of those things.
If you charge it home it really depends on what you are replacing it with. Many people trade in hybrids or other eco cars for these, which do not run on premium. The fuel savings are there, if you charge at home, but at current gas prices it isn a huge difference. The difference in tire replacement costs and insurance costs more than make up that difference in fuel savings over a more economical car.

It very comfortable with plenty of room for me and someone to sit behind me and my 6 self, it drives and rides great (even if it not as old school cushy as a LeSabre), plenty of power from the 3.6L V6 and surprisingly good MPGs, and we really enjoy the panoramic moonroof.

I forgot to add that the other feature of the Aton that makes it a better fit for small cars is that the release handle for the seat is on the bottom where as most are on top near the canopy. This means you don’t have to worry about having enough room for your hand to fit to pull the handle between the infant seat and front seat. This made a big impact on the seats that would work in our car and the Aton won easily.

Ugh, I went to Babies R us and tried car seats and out of the 12 that I liked, NONE of them fit in the rear facing position in the center of the back seat. I had to put both front seats so far forward to get the baby seat at 45 degrees that there was no way for me to get in behind the wheel (I’m tall, so I need the seat about 2/3rds of the way back). I called 3 bmw dealerships and they could not care less. Now I know I will not be buying another BMW for my next car (customer service is important), but what should I do now.
